About this Event
This is the second edition of a successful Methods Exchange co-organised last academic year by the Centre for Law and History Research and the Department of History. This year, the Methods Exchange focuses on the challenges and opportunities present in working with archives at two extremes: highly rich datasets and fragmented, dispersed archives. There will be two panels, one on each type of archive. Each panel will consist of a combination of legal academics and historians. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue amongst scholars working with extensive and scarce archives across varied thematic contexts and jurisdictions, the event will invite an insightful exchange on the joys and challenges of doing such work, including (and especially) through sharing creative methodological strategies adopted to respond to difficulties.
