An Esoteric Architecture Tour — Franklin Castle

Led by Michael Matrone III

This tour explores the occult architectural dimensions of Cleveland's Franklin Castle - built 1881, conceived and designed by the architectural firm Cudell and Richardson for a German immigrant. All three, particularly Franz Cudell who was born and grown in Aachen -epicenter of the most sacred cathedral of the Holy Roman Empire - were deeply influenced by Gothic and sacred architectural traditions rooted in medieval Northern Europe.

Cudell brought with him the knowledge of Masonic and Rosicrucian principles, weaving sacred geometry, symbolic form, and energy flow into every aspect of the building. Key concepts include the Golden Ratio (φ = 1.618), which governs the proportions of rooms and spaces; sacred geometry, which aligns the structure with the frequencies of the cosmos; color theory, where hues are chosen to evoke specific spiritual states; and acoustic design, as the castle functions as a resonant chamber that transforms sound into energy.

The tour moves organically and vertically through the building's symbolic layers - from the basement's old remains of geothermal underground connections, through 20+ rooms across four stories, up to the celestial top-floor ballroom with its ribbed "whale's rib cage" flanks. Each element, from hollow double-brick walls keyed into its stone external armor to spiraling turrets, is intentional and divinely designed.

This tradition of occult architecture spans Egyptian temples, Gothic cathedrals, Islamic geometric design, and Renaissance masters like da Vinci and Palladio — all sharing the belief that built space can promote spiritual growth, well-being, and cosmic harmony.

What to expect :
Guests are welcomed through the front door, as they settle in ; they are offered complimentary refreshments and snacks before the guided exploration embarks them on a journey through the house, discovering its magic inner proportions firsthand, revealing its deep, intriguing mystery and sacred geometry.

This unrushed, engaging, and unforgettable evening is about learning, FEELING and growing - and becoming part of the legend !
