There will be two tree planting sessions. Each will start promptly so please allow plenty of time to get to the planting site.*
We are Community Trees MK and we are planting trees across the city of MK with the help of the people of MK.
We are partnering with The Parks Trust and the International Tree Foundation to plant trees at this wonderful site known as the Archery Field at the Poplar Plantation south of Willen Lake. We are planting native tree species which will improve local biodiversity and enhance the green space for all residents.
To plant trees with us you need to book places in advance.
On the Day:
The date is Saturday 1st March 2025. There will be two planting sessions that day:
1. 10:00am-11:30am, and
2. 12 noon-1:30pm.
We would like to see lots of local people come along to help us plant trees. This is an open-air event so please dress for cold and potentially damp weather, please wear stout boots or shoes, bring gardening gloves and come ready to do some digging. For those of you who have them, you are welcome to bring your own spades to the event.
No experience is required, full instruction will be given. The aim is to have fun while helping the local environment.
This is a family-friendly event, toilet facilities are available a short walk away at Willen Lake.
All under 16's to be accompanied by an adult.

Equipment will be provided and will be available when you arrive.
Covid compliance:
We will operate the event in a Covid compliant manner based on the rules applicable at the time.
Getting to the planting site:
We would really appreciate it if you were able to walk or cycle or use public transport if you can.
If you need to travel by car, we ask that you park in the car park at Willen Lake which is a 5 minute walk to the planting site. The car park can be located on Sat Nav using postcode MK15 0DS. You will then need to make your way to the site.
