From hunting tools and weapons of war to ceremonial objects and artistic works, bows and arrows occupy many roles in cultures around the world. Join us as we explore the world of archery through shooting and flintknapping demonstrations and archery-inspired crafts and games for all ages. Make a mini bow or blowgun to shoot q-tips, try your hand at the Arapaho hoop game with an arrow you've decorated, see if you can identify the many animals hunted by Indigenous people in North Carolina, and more! This event is offered in conjunction with the exhibit "Archery: Hunting, Warfare and Identity." Admission is free. Please DO NOT bring your own archery equipment to this event. Only pre-approved archery groups will be conducting demonstrations.
