About Naveed:
Naveed Sattar is from Glasgow – which he loves – and Professor of Cardiometabolic Medicine at the University of Glasgow. He has contributed to >1500 papers across diabetes, obesity, CV disease and related conditions. He has also co-authored over 10 national or international guidelines across cardiometabolic disease, including obesity guidelines. He has also contributed to many trials in these areas including lifestyle and drugs trials, with evidence of impact across several disciplines. He is associate editor for Diabetes Care and has received several national and international awards for his research contributions. He contributes to new health initiatives in the Scottish Health Service and in 2023 was appointed Chair of the UK Government’s Obesity Healthcare Goals Programme.
