Did you know that many names of stars are Arabic? Join us in an exploration of Arab culture, from food to architecture, as well as its many contributions to astronomy. Guest speakers Mohamed Maache and Mona Said will give personal accounts of their homelands, Algeria and Lebanon. Gaze at the starry night sky as astronomer Jean Creighton shares her favorite story from “One Thousand and One Nights.”The program will include an indoor stargazing session of the night sky followed by the opportunity to ask questions. This event is open to the public. Not recommended for children under 4.
