About this Event
Join us Saturday, March 21st at 6:00 pm for an evening of painting with local artist Pip. All supplies are included, so just bring yourself and get ready to create.
In honor of Women’s History Month, we’ll be painting a curated design by Sophia “Pip” Clarke, a talented local female artist we’re proud to celebrate.
We’ll have plenty of snacks and drinks available for purchase, so you can make a full night of it. It’s the perfect date night, friends night, or solo adventure. Come as you are and leave with something beautiful you made yourself.
From the artist Pip:
"To be a woman is to be part of the essential space of creation. For some, that creation lives in their bodies; for others, in their minds, their compassion, their resilience, and their care. These qualities make us not only makers, but holders of stories, of effort, of time.
Across cultures and mythologies whether shaped from dirt, stone, wood, or clay we come from the earth and return to it. Painting, like rest, is one way we remember this. It offers a moment to slow down, to breathe, to let our hands move without urgency or expectation.
As an artist, my lens often looks toward the role of women within our communities. What does our presence mean? How does it ripple outward and shift what surrounds us? The role of women in society has never been one of true silence. We have always been connected to the alchemic powers of change and creation. This class invites you to reconnect with that and channel it again through paint.
Today, we honor roots that stretch from the past into the present and continue growing toward the future. Growth does not always come from force. Sometimes it comes from pause, from softness, and from allowing ourselves to take up space quietly. Womanhood has never been a single, universal experience. It is made of many small moments of labor and rest, of intention and instinct, layered together, much like paint.
With that in mind, I invite you to take a seat, pick up a brush, and allow yourself to release. Create as an offering rather than a task. As the women before you have, sometimes with purpose, sometimes simply through the act of making."
