The APYO is looking to fill the following positions in the orchestra: Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Bassoons, Horns, Trumpets, Trombones, Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Basses, Percussion and Tuba.
Auditions are required for participation in APYO.
On the day of your audition, plan to show up early enough to store your case and warm up, as needed.
Decisions on placement will be sent to all students on August 31. These placements are subject to change throughout the season, based on performance, attendance, and changes in orchestra size.
REHEARSALS are on Mondays beginning September 9, 2024 from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Thaden School in Bentonville. The semester will conclude with a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 on Saturday November 9, 2024.
APYO is composed of multiple orchestras, as well as some small ensembles. Each semester (fall and spring), we rehearse once a week for approximately 9 weeks, leading up to a finale concert each semester. We also create other performance opportunities for select students, including ensembles, community concerts, and collaborations with other artists and musicians. APYO tuition for the 2024-2025 season is $400. Payment plans are available.
REQUIREMENTS
Interested students should be comfortable with note reading and have at least 1 year of private instruction or playing experience.
