Julia Petersen, Project Manager, of The Nature Conservancy will introduce attendees to the Keweenaw Heartlands as both a forest and a community-driven conservation project. She’ll describe the 3-year (and counting) journey of The Nature Conservancy, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and 29+ community members as they work together to transition 32,500 acres of forest into public ownership, and she’ll provide updates on their progress.
