If your garden is in bloom, bring those blooms, arrangements or photographs to our General Meeting on April 20, 2026 where we will be having our first Little Rose Show of 2026. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. in Casa del Prado’s room 101 in Balboa Park.This April club event is a fun, low pressure, social affair that walks members, and even newbies, through the show guidelines and show placements. Volunteers will be available to help prepare and stage your blooms and arrangements. Photographs of roses are welcome, and space is provided to showcase your pictures. All entries must be ready to be judged by 7:15 p.m. A copy of the Little Rose Show Rules is on the next page of this newsletter. It is always useful to review this document before the show.
The evening continues with our May 2026 Rose Show Chairperson and ARS National Chair of Judges, Linda Clark. She will be judging entries along with the newest ARS apprentice judges in our society who passed their judging exam last October. The judges will explain how rose specimens, arrangements and photographs are awarded points. The Rose of the Night, Best Arrangement, and Best Photograph will be given a certificate and gift card.
So come join your fellow rose lovers at this first 2026 Little Rose Show on April 20, 2026. There will be no Consulting Rosarians’ Corner and no Rose Auction in April.
Directions to Casa del Prado, Room 101: The Casa del Prado building is immediately west of the Natural History Museum. Entrances to the Casa del Prado lead to an inner court. The rooms are accessible from the court. Room 101 is downstairs on the east end of the court.
