Open Studio is set to reopen on Thursday April 2nd and will feature a talk and demo of Slow Stitching. What is Slow Stitching?
Slow stitching is a mindful approach to hand-stitching that invites you to pause, breathe, and embrace imperfection. Think of it as stitching for the soul—not for speed or flawlessness. You can make beautiful small works of art with scraps of fabric, lace, buttons, embroidery thread and mark making.
Every stitch or use of texture becomes a moment of presence and reflection.
Common slow stitching methods include:
🌿 Sustainability: using repurposed or vintage fabrics
🧵 Visible mending: celebrating the handmade
✨ Wabi-sabi philosophy: appreciating beauty in imperfection
Join us for a short Demo at the April Open Studio.
Free for ACE members, $10 non-members.
