At our April meeting we are pleased to welcome:
Our speaker: Brie Horvath is a local volunteer with London Wildlife Protection, F4 Bird Rescue, and London Pigeon Stringfoot & Rescue. In her role, she helps members of the public who have spotted injured, ill, or baby birds. She helps the Kingston flock with "stringfoot", a condition where string/hair tangles around pigeons' feet and restricts movement and blood flow, leading to deformity and loss of toes/feet. Although she adores all birds, she has a soft spot for the underdog: the feral pigeon. In her talk she'll highlight pigeons' long story with humans, address their reputation as pests, and ways to peacefully coexist.
