The amazing thing is that the plant and animal kingdom have some incredible - and easy - ways to help that are all natural, healing, chemical free and - if you go out and harvest the plants your self - generally low cost too.
In this class I will help you unlock the mysteries of the green kingdom, so that you can start to work with the Plant Allies to heal your Self, your family, your friends (and in many cases your pets too!).
I will also help you learn to make the medicine yourself, which will further help to save costs and empower you to take control of your own well-being
Come meet the healing helping herbs in your own backyard that can help when you get sick - I will teach you all about the plants including how to identify and find them, their properties and actions, and of course, we will make beautiful medicine with them too!

Each month Registered Herbalist Misha will profile 3 to 4 biogregional herbs, plants that happily grow here in beautiful Southwest Florida, that can be found right here in your own backyard!
You will meet each plant, connecting with it and discovering its secrets. Participants will learn how to identify the plant in the wild, one of nature guide Misha’s special super powers is teaching plant ID, so she will help you feel confident to be able to find the plants later on your own too. Misha will share each plants’ medicinal and edible properties as well, helping you to learn how to work with them.

During this class you will:
* Get to meet the plants in person, either via a collected specimen or stepping right outside into the wild to see the plants growing at Cypress.
* Sample the plants using your 5 senses, allowing for even deeper connection to each featured species, including getting to try different types of herbal medicine made with the month's featured plants
* Create a herbal monograph for each plant to help you build your personal material medica
* Craft a unique herbal make-and-take - your admission includes materials to make one herbal item or formula using the plants we cover in class (and you will get the recipe too!)...this is available for in-person students only
* You will receive the recording of the class (video hosted as a private link on Vimeo) and handouts for the class afterwards too!
Our focus will be on bioregional beauties - plants that are naturally at home here in our Sunshine state (which means you can grow them!). Learn their actions, properties, and how each plant can help you support your friends and families health.
Class will include a blend of plants found in Western Herbalism, Chinese Herbalism, and traditional regional and spiritual healing practices.
This program is taught by Registered Herbalist Misha, a botanist and Florida environmental educator with over 30 years of experience working in wild Florida.
We meet the second Sunday of each month, from 2 to 4 pm in person at Cypress Pillar Healing Arts in Sarasota, Florida.
You can either purchase an in - person class ticket OR a virtual. Class in person is limited to 15 students. Virtual tickets do NOT include materials for the herbal make and take.
