The Rockford Park District's Outdoor Education and Recreation department invites you to a monthly Craft Club series, where we will be diving into nature-themed crafting experiences. From whittling to clay to willow weaving and so many things in between, sign up for one or several courses in this series as we learn introductory techniques for a wide variety of unique and creative activities selected to broaden your crafting horizons. Each course is meant to be a standalone experience that compliments other projects within the series. Courses will be two hours in length, setting you up with the basics to complete each project. Seasonally, Craft Club will rotate between locations: Atwood Center and the lodge at Alpine Hills Adventure Park. Come find a new perspective on an old favorite crafting activity or learn something completely new!Are you tired of dealing with piles of plastic grocery bags? Those one-use wonders that clutter up your kitchen and eventually end up in landfills and blowing around like urban tumbleweeds? Come join us for the April installment of Craft Club, where we will be learning to crochet reusable produce/market bags! This course is designed to be beginner friendly and will explore the basics of reading crochet patterns, learning introductory crochet stitches, and will equip participants with the essential skills and materials needed to complete the project.
If you participated in our Hand Carved Crochet Hooks course, this month’s Club makes for a fun and practical opportunity to try out your newly made hooks!
April's Craft Club will be held at the lodge at Alpine Hills Adventure Park (4402 Larson Ave, Rockford IL). Registration is $20 per session. Must be age 16 and up to register. Crafting supplies will be provided.
