About this Event

This 2 part series focuses on appliqué, denim and patchwork pieces to be combined as layered pieces, or worked on individually as a patch you can apply to another garment.

Event Details:

  • Date: Thursdays 5/9 & 5/16
  • Time: 6-8p
  • Location: 2307 1st Ave

Skills you'll learn:

  • Find out how to use fusible webbing, stabiliser, zigzag stitch, and more tips and techniques for applique success.
  • Find out how to layer and piece together smaller bits of fabric to create a textile.
  • Apply these skills to an existing garment as a patch or repair.
  • If your skills are ready, we can start to turn that textile into its own unique garment.

*For any incompleted work you're always welcome to join our Make It Werk Classes to complete anything unfinished in this classes timeframe

At KFLY Sewing Studio we have chalk, rulers, scissors, fusible webbing and many more supplies that will assist in your creative journey. We have brand new sewing machines from Quality Sew & Vacuum so you only need to bring your own machine if you want to get more aquatinted with it.

For any investements into sewing supplies or materials we love Stitches on Capital Hill.

Please Bring:

  • An idea, sketch, pintrest board of inspo, anything to kick off this creativity in your own desired direction.
  • Materials you want to work on, especially scraps that are at least 4"x4". Maybe that's turning an old t-shirt into a patch, or a pair of jeans that need to be patched and repaired so bring more denim. (No zippers alterations please.)
  • Fabrics you can layer and work into a patchwork textile.

For any and all questions google can't answer, or if this timeframe doesn't work for you and you're still interested in this or other sewing classes, please email us at [email protected] to find a time/class that works for you.

* There is a $50 non-refundable fee should you decide to cancel, and cancelations must happen 24hrs prior to the event via email to [email protected] otherwise the ticket is 100% non-refundable. Rescheduling is possible on a case-by-case basis, just reach out ASAP when you know you won't be able to make class so we can find a time that works.
