App Owner Orientation Workshop for Non-Technical Founders

Before you embark on a journey to developing an app idea, there are some things you need know about how to get started that have nothing to do with hiring a developer. There are several things you need to do before you even consider hiring a developer.

This live, virtual (Zoom-based) workshop is going to reveal some key early steps you can take even while you're still in the idea stage, such as:

• Simple, affordable, pragmatic steps you can take now to go to market even in your pre-revenue (or early revenue) phase
• Tips and strategies to help you get better at finding/hiring/onboarding an app dev team or freelancer (and what NOT to do when hiring!)
• Understanding the true cost of app ownership and practical tips whether you’re on a bootstrapper’s budget or have recently received sufficient working capital to fund a larger-scale development project
• How to create and communicate requirements for your idea to a Product Manager (you need this person on your team first BTW) or Product Engineer (e.g. software engineer, user experience enginer, data engineer, etc.)
• How to prioritize your product releases/milestones
• How to leverage No-Code and Low-Code solutions to get your app idea to market ASAP
• The importance of learning about and embracing modern product development culture, e.g. Agile principles, values, and practices
• How to form and lead product development teams even if the team consists of part-time or freelance talent

• A non-technical founder that has been in business (of any kind) or is considering starting a business soon that might involve making an app
• A founder who is in the ideation and planning stages of app development
• Ready to learn more about what it costs to create an app and how to set a realistic bootstrapper-friendly budget
• Ready to start building an app within the next 30-90 days (no coding and no developer needed)
• A founder who's business is post-revenue will benefit the most from this workshop, but we do encourage pre-revenue founders to attend as well to gain some much needed planning insights for both your business and your app idea
