A musical feast is in store for everyone as we welcome the Apollo Chamber Players, a professional string quartet from Houston, TX, in concert at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. Named the 2025 Ensemble of the Year by Chamber Music America, this dynamic ensemble features multicultural music from around the globe and recent censorship and democracy-inspired commissions.
Apollo has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and is featured frequently on American Public Media’s Performance Today. Over the past decade the ensemble has commissioned over 60 multicultural works and released 8 acclaimed albums, collaborating with artists such as Jennifer Higdon, John Corigliano, Jerod Tate, Adolphus Hailstork, Vân-Ánh Võ, Pamela Z, and actor George Takei. Apollo was founded in 2008 by violinist and arts entrepreneur Matthew J. Detrick (son of Joe & Venona). This concert is free and open to the public.
