About this Event
Join ACCA and APHIDS for an offsite screening of DESTINY as part of the exhibition — mimicking the form of the eight-hour workday, DESTINY will be shown as a one-day only offsite project on 11 December from 2-10pm at on the Level 6 car park at Cardigan House, Carlton.
DESTINY is a new art-film made in collaboration with on-demand or ‘gig economy’ workers that explores personal and global experiences of the platform economy.
Accompanying the screening of DESTINY, a panel discussion will take place from 4–5pm with Amelia Wallin, Eugenia Lim and worker–performers Cher Tan and Wasay who will reflect on the making of the work, the platform economy and and how ‘convenience’ is shaping bodies, behaviours and perceptions of time.
This event will take place at Cardigan House Carpark, 96 Grattan Street, Carlton. ACE Parking provides $5 flat rate parking. Pedestrian entrance on Grattan Street.
A podcast recording of the event will be available via ACCA's website and SoundCloud.
