Apex Theatre Studio, in partnership with the Nease Theatre program, proudly presents the Broadway hit musical Matilda, running April 9 through April 11 at the Performing Arts Center at Alan D. Nease High School, located at 10550 Ray Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32081.
Based on the beloved story, Matilda follows an extraordinary young girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. Though neglected by her cruel parents, Matilda finds encouragement and understanding in her compassionate schoolteacher, Miss Honey. As their bond grows, Matilda must also face the school’s tyrannical headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who delights in punishing students. With courage, cleverness, and heart, Matilda may become the saving grace for her classmates.
Featuring a book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to captivate sold‑out audiences of all ages around the world.
This production showcases young performers from the advanced musical theatre workshop at Apex Theatre Studio, alongside drama students from Alan D. Nease High School, highlighting a collaborative commitment to arts education and performance excellence.
