About this Event
This event brings together the wines of a producer with deep roots in the Roman countryside: Parvus Ager, a family winery whose story spans four generations and over a century of viticulture. From a small field of five hectares purchased in 1905 to a thriving 54-hectare estate along the Ancient Appian Way, this tasting offers a journey through memory, innovation, and the evolving identity of Lazio wine.
A Century of Winemaking, Rooted in Ancient Soil
What began with a wine cart descending from the Roman Castles has grown into one of the region's most compelling wine projects. The three grandchildren of the Lulli family — Silvana, Alessia, and Giacomo — have led a complete renewal of the estate, combining the wisdom of their ancestors with modern viticulture and a technologically advanced cellar. The vineyards lie at the tenth mile of the Ancient Appian Way, on volcanic soils shaped by the ancient Latium Volcano — land cultivated since the time of Roman senators and consuls, and still farmed today with the same sense of vocation and care.

About the Winery
Parvus Ager (Lazio) The name Parvus Ager — Latin for "Small Field" — honors the five-hectare plot purchased by Luigi Lulli in 1905, the seed of what would become a four-generation family legacy. Today, the estate spans 54 hectares in the heart of the Roman countryside, immersed in an archaeological park along the Ancient Appian Way. The volcanic soil, rich in tradition and history, gives the wines a distinctly authentic character. Guided by a philosophy of quality and sustainability, Parvus Ager oversees every stage of the production chain — from vineyard to bottle — driven by the belief that great wine is "a concentration of all the wise teachings that our grandparents passed down to us."
What does aperitivo italiano really mean?
An aperitivo (or apéritif) is often described as being similar to the American happy hour, but in reality, it’s so much more than that. An aperitivo is a ritual, joyous and mood-lifting. It relaxes you after a day of work and prepares you for the night to come. The aperitivo has long been a staple in Italy, and in recent years, has been gaining more appreciation around the world.
