About this Event
Apana Women+ Community Circle
For women+ living with painful/heavy periods, fibroids, endometriosis, or PCOS, etc. No diagnosis needed.
Bring a mat or borrow one from the studio!
The Apana Women+ Community Circle seeks to create a space for women and other gender identities living with pelvic pain. Through light asana focused on pelvic floor engagement and relaxation, pranayama, and guided meditation, community members will be able to connect with themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.
One community member said, "It was wonderful being able to share space with others with similar struggles and take time to really be present in our bodies! We really are trained to ignore our body’s needs and intentionally acknowledging and honoring parts of ourselves that bring up difficult emotions in a safe community space is so important."
Note: This circle is not intended to replace medical care, but to serve as a complementary, supportive space for mindful movement and subtle body work.
Facilitator Profile
Kaylin Wainwright is an RYT-200 yoga instructor living with endometriosis and fibroids. She is inspired to share yoga with other women+ living with painful pelvic conditions because it has been a powerful complement to her own medical and mental health treatments in managing symptoms.
Cost
This circle is free as a karma yoga offering. The option to donate to the White Dress Project, an advocacy group promoting awareness and education around uterine fibords, will be available at the event.
