Anywhere, Suddenly explores the fragile line between memory and reality as dreams and waking life collide inside the mind of Jack Whelan, a troubled man searching for his estranged lover—and his one-eyed cat. As memories blur into apparitions, Jack leads audiences on a mesmerizing, darkly humorous journey to uncover what truly happened. Blending dramatic form with the intimacy of oral storytelling, the production transforms audiences from passive observers into active participants in Jack’s unraveling world. Inspired by Appalachian “Jack Tales,” Anywhere, Suddenly becomes a contemporary folktale and modern ghost story—eerie, playful, and deeply human—a love letter to Tennessee and the storytelling traditions of the surrounding mountains. The production is written and performed by Jason Tinney, founder of Cast Iron Storytelling, with music written and performed by Jason Hackbarth and direction by Kashun Parks.This is Dinner & A Show!
