Bag Antistatic står Søren Høi (trommer), Mads Ulrich (guitar) og Laust Moltesen Andreassen (guitar). Det København-baserede trancerock-band så dagens lys i 2019 og fik hurtigt skabt opmærksomhed omkring sig på undergrundscenen med sit særegne udtryk og sin tekniske kompleksitet. Med en besætning bestående af to guitarister og en trommeslager, skaber Antistatic en tranceindgydende fusion af minimalisme, ambient og metal, hvor den klassiske rockinstrumentering er vendt på vrangen og riff-baserede strukturer fravælges til fordel for hypnotiserende, repetitive trommepassager, og brugen af gentagelser giver publikum og musikere plads til at synke helt ned i rytmernes dybder.
Siden 2019 er det kun gået fremad for Antistatic, som udgav deres debutalbum “Relics” på det legendariske amerikanske pladeselskab Cuneiform Records i starten af 2024. På albummet udforsker Antistatic rytme, tålmodighed og musikalske hierarkier med lige dele nysgerrighed og intention. Præcisionen og kompleksiteten i bandets omhyggeligt sammensatte rytmer kunne antyde, at loop- og trommemaskiner spillede en rolle i skabelsen af “Relics”, men albummets tranceindgydende numre er udelukkende spillet af bandets tre medlemmer med nidkær præcision og rytmisk kærlighed. With charming percussive intricacies and precision, Antistatic draws the audience into a trance-like state of nodding rhythmic momentum. The Copenhagen-based instrumental trio released their debut album on the legendary Cuneiform Records at the beginning of the year, and now they are ready to envelop ALICE in repetitive rhythmic love this September.
Antistatic consists of Søren Høi (drums), Mads Ulrich (guitar), and Laust Moltesen Andreassen (guitar). The Copenhagen-based trance rock band came into being in 2019 and quickly garnered attention on the underground scene with their distinctive expression and technical complexity. With a lineup of two guitarists and a drummer, Antistatic creates a trance-inducing fusion of minimalism, ambient, and metal, where classical rock instrumentation is turned inside out and riff-based structures are abandoned in favor of hypnotic, repetitive drum passages, allowing both the audience and musicians to sink deep into the rhythms.
