Anti-racist Paisley: from 1930s to today

Join us for an evening of stories of 100 years of anti-racism in Paisley - in the streets, in education, in music and in sport!
About this Event

Join us for an evening of stories of anti-racist solidarity throughout Paisley's history. From Rock against Racism in the 1970s to the activities of Show Racism the Red Card and Stand up to Racism today, the Paisley community has a rich tradition of standing up for our neighbours and standing shoulder to shoulder in solidarity.
As the far right gathers force once more, we look back not to romanticise the past but to draw strength from it. What can we carry forward? What must we fight for now?

A panel of peakers will share stories of the defeat of Oswald Mosley's blackshirts in the 1930s, the leading role that Paisley played in Rock against Racism, fighting racism in and through education, using sports to combat racism and build solidarity, and the anti-racist mobilising in Paisley over the last year.
