Originally formed in 2001, the band performed original songs under the band names of 'The Ryde' and then 'The Empires' in and around the West Midlands. Looking to build more of a following the lads came upon the idea of performing as a covers band and using their original band to support themselves to play to larger audiences.
This idea coincided with the release of Arctic Monkeys debut album 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' and following a jamming session of ' I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor', the Antarctic Monkeys were formed!
Since that day the band has gone from strength to strength and never looked back. Headlining the Biggest Tribute festivals, achieving their very own annual tour of the O2 Academy venues nationwide as well as touring internationally in Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Dubai, Sicily and most recently a country wide tour of Australia. With sold out shows becoming a common occurrence, the demand for the Antarctic Monkeys is now greater than ever!
