About this Event
It’s our annual shearing day! Come out to watch our fiber animals be relieved of their winter coats! It’s an instant transformation, and quite an interesting process to observe. We will be shearing our:
- alpacas
- sheep
- angora goats
- llamas
Farmer Anne shears professionally and will be doing the demonstrations. Our volunteers will explain the different types of fiber, and you’ll have a chance to touch it, and card and even hand spin it if you want to try!
The shearing is done with the utmost respect for the animal; however, because it is not part of their daily routine, it can be a bit stressful for them so we’ll be keeping everything very low key and quiet.
