The Annual Recital 2026 pays tribute to Ludwig Minkus, born exactly two hundred years ago, and to his most emblematic work, Don Quixote, created in Saint Petersburg in 1871 in collaboration with Marius Petipa. Inspired by Cervantes’ colourful universe, this ballet celebrates the passionate love of Kitri and Basilio through a multitude of lively and brilliant dances, combining technical virtuosity with romantic dream. A vibrant homage to one of ballet’s timeless masterpieces. The graduating students will also present Yannick Boquin’s complete ballet set to Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2, whose first movement was performed in 2024.
Finally, the students will showcase the many other facets of their talent through contemporary creations by Maciej Kuźmiński, Joost Vrouenraets and Thusnelda Mercy, as well as the traditional Walloon dances.
