About this Event
Guidelines:
• The count involves taking one photo of each species of sea slug you find on the Census dates from 11th to the 13th of October
• Each diver buddy pair, snorkeller & rock pooler should send in one photo for each species of sea slug they encounter on the Census dates. If you think you may have captured two species that look very similar, send in photos of both individuals.
Photos are to be submitted to: https://biocollect.ala.org.au/acsa/project/index/197f0afa-b1e0-415a-b95d-682b710795b3
• You don’t need to identify the sea slugs, just take their photos!
• Photos must be taken along the Gold Coast from South Stradbroke Island to Cook Island. Photos should be cropped around the sea slug and compressed in size to enable uploading to Gold Coast Sea Slug Survey on BioCollect by Saturday 13th of October 2024. Individuals that have uploaded an image to the Biocollect site are in the running for some sea slug themed prizes!
Anyone who has registered and uploaded images during the survey will also receive one free tank re-fill.
• A Sea slug is defined as any headshield slug, sapsucking slug, seahare, sidegill slug and nudibranch. If unsure send photo anyway.
• Ocean Connect Waiver Form to be completed to participate: https://forms.gle/zSQjcioXWeaUUsVf8
- Your registration also includes an invitation to the online introduction on Tuesday evening the 8th of October to learn more about the dive sites and dive conditions.
These events are at your own risk. If you are more comfortable joining an organised dive/rockpool event, please register for these individual events on our Eventbrite page.
