Escape the Ordinary. Conquer the 11.Welcome to SplashCo's 2026 Jailbreak Paddle Marathon! This is an 11-mile, self-paced endurance challenge on the historic waters of Lake Natoma. Unlike traditional races, the "Jailbreak" gives you the freedom to choose your own perfect day to paddle during the entire month of June.
The Challenge: Paddle from the base of Nimbus Dam to the infamous Folsom Prison boundary wire and back. Prove your breakout with a GPS log and a "Mugshot" at the wire to earn your exclusive gear.
Entry Includes: Custom "Jailbreak" Tech T-Shirt, Finisher Medal, and Vinyl Board Decal.
Format: Virtual/Asynchronous (Tracked via GPS).
Distance: 11 Miles (Round Trip).

Your 30-Day "Escape Window"
There is no mass start. You have the entire month of June to complete your 11-mile mission.
June 1, 2026: SplashCo's Jailbreak window officially opens.
June 1 – June 30, 2026: Complete your 11-mile loop at Lake Natoma on any day or time that fits your schedule.
June 30, 2026 (11:59 PM): Final day to complete the paddle.
July 5, 2026: Deadline to email your "Mugshot" and GPS evidence.
July 15, 2026: Swag shipping begins!
Pro-Tip: Weekday mornings offer the calmest water and guaranteed parking at Nimbus Flat.
The 11-Mile Jailbreak Route
The course is a straight "Out and Back" loop starting from the south end of Lake Natoma.
Start/Finish: Nimbus Flat State Recreation Area.
The Ascent (5.5 Miles): Paddle North/Up-river. You will pass under the Hazel Ave Bridge, Lake Natoma Crossing, and the historic Rainbow Bridge.
The Turnaround: Reach the Folsom Prison "Do Not Pass" Wire. This heavy cable hangs across the river; stay on the south side of the wire to avoid restricted prison property.
The Descent (5.5 Miles): Return down-river to the docks at Nimbus Flat.
Total Distance: 17.7 Kilometers / 11.0 Miles.
Getting to the Launch
All participants should launch from the Nimbus Flat State Recreation Area.

From Hwy 50: Exit at Hazel Avenue and head North. Turn right into the Nimbus Flat entrance immediately after the freeway ramps.
Parking: California State Parks charges a $10 daily vehicle fee. This is not included in your race registration. (You can also use the Poppy Pass)
Alternative Launch: If Nimbus Flat is full, you may launch from Black Miners Bar (on the opposite side of the lake), provided your GPS track still covers the full 11-mile loop to the Prison Wire and back.
