In the 1960s creative, grooving and beautiful music was everywhere. The '60s music scene exploded with amazing young composers like Burt Bacharach, and breezy, harmonically rich styles like Bossa Nova. Many of Bacharach’s most memorable pieces have been performed in the Bossa Nova style, and his approach to contemporary writing influenced many of the top performers in that genre. This performance showcases some of our favorite Bacharach songs (many in the Brazilian style), and some of the best music from Astrud Gilberto and Brazil '66. Arranged by Grammy-nominated arranger/pianist Tom Zink, and featuring song stylist Anne Walsh along with some of LA’s top musicians, we’ll create a tapestry of our favorite Bacharach and Bossa favorites in this romantic show. Featuring songs such as “I Say A Little Prayer”, “Alfie”, “One Less Bell” ,"Girl from Ipanema", "The Look of Love", and other classics from the era.
