Ankeny Area Democrats Capitol Tour
Join us for a guided tour of the Iowa State Capitol with fellow Ankeny Area Democrats. This is a great opportunity to explore the beautiful Capitol building, learn more about Iowa government, and spend time together as a group.
Details:
The tour begins at 9:00 AM, so please plan to meet by the Capitol Gift Shop at 8:45 AM so we can gather before the guide begins.
Dome option:
During the tour, visitors will have the option to climb up to the Capitol dome. This portion involves climbing stairs. If you prefer not to do the dome climb, you are absolutely welcome to skip just that portion and continue touring the rest of the Capitol with us. The building itself has elevators and plenty to see.
Please wear comfortable shoes, as there will be walking and standing during the tour.

Details about parking and carpooling will be shared closer to the event.
After the tour:
Once the guided tour concludes, our plans will depend on the Capitol schedule for that day. If the legislature is in session, we may have the opportunity to watch debate in the House or Senate, or explore other areas of the Capitol.
