About this Event
Join us for a retrospective of Jack Feldstein’s New York City–centric neon animation films. This postmodern animation filmmaking style employs appropriation and pop art techniques, blending digital animation with archival imagery to trace a distinctly metropolitan visual history, with a focus on the city as both subject and stage. Jack Feldstein is an Award-winning animation filmmaker, scriptwriter, and playwright. A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts and the Australian Film School in Sydney, Australia, Feldstein’s over thirty neon animation films, including The Ecstasy of Gary Green, The Adventures of Virginia Woolf, and A Wonderous Film About Emma Brooks, have screened worldwide from New York’s Lincoln Center to the Rotterdam and Sydney International Film Festival.
