About this Event

Joyce will take a brief look at the teaching of some non-Islamic faiths about our relationshipwith animals. She will contrast their teaching with what actually happens to animals whereeach faith is predominant.

Her lecture will devote most time to the wealth of teaching in the Qur’an and Hadith aboutthe place of animals on the earth and how we should treat them. The Qur’an states thatanimals are also communities and that the earth has been created for both humans andanimals to “enjoy”. Are there inconsistencies between the beautiful Islamic teaching and howanimals are treated in practice?

Joyce is Ambassador Emeritus for Compassion in World Farming, the leading charity advancing the welfare of farm animals worldwide.

Her book will be available for sale at this event.
