What is ANIMAL FLOW? 🐾

ANIMAL FLOW is a dynamic, ground-based movement program that blends elements from various bodyweight disciplines such as breakdancing, parkour, gymnastics, and hand balancing, all while incorporating animal locomotion patterns. This unique program can be practiced by individuals of all skill levels, with movements ranging from entry-level to highly advanced. Whether performed alone or combined into “flows,” where different elements are linked together in a continuous chain of energy and movement, ANIMAL FLOW offers a versatile and engaging workout experience.

1️⃣ Class Structure:

In this intro class, you will learn the foundational positions known as the ABCs: Ape, Beast, and Crab. These positions serve as the starting point for most flows and are integral to many advanced dynamic movements. The class will guide you through:

• Foundation Positions: Mastering Ape, Beast, and Crab positions.
• Traveling Forms: Using these positions to move across the ground.
• Form Specific Stretches: Enhancing your flexibility and mobility.
• Switches and Transitions: Linking movements to create seamless flows.

2️⃣ By the end of the class, you will be familiar with various iterations of these foundational positions and how to use them in your practice.

Each movement in the program has a specific intent, grounded in the proven scientific principles that support bodyweight training. 3️⃣ Is ANIMAL FLOW Like Yoga?

(ANIMAL FLOW is not yoga, it is not a type of Vinyasa)

While ANIMAL FLOW and yoga both aim to enhance mobility, flexibility, and stability, they are distinct practices with minimal overlap in movements. ANIMAL FLOW is a more dynamic and active practice, focusing on moving through a range of motion rather than holding static positions. Additionally, ANIMAL FLOW is a purely physical practice without the religious, spiritual, or cultural elements of yoga. Although we respect and acknowledge the history and culture behind yoga, our program does not incorporate any yoga teachings or concepts.
