We are hosting a workshop and talk by Ania Ready based around her photobook 'I Also Fight Windmills'.
About this Event

We have two sessions on 23rd April. Both sessions will be lead by Ania Ready

WORKSHOP: How to successfully finance and promote photobooks.
2pm-5pm
In the form of a workshop this session will focus on ways in which you can find financial support for creating your photobook, and offer first-hand advice from Ania Ready, a photographic artist who partially fundraised production costs of her latest ‘I Also Find Windmills’ publication. Ania will also help you work out a marketing plan for your book, taking advantage of available opportunities and creating your own ones. By the end of the session you will have a draft plan ready to put into action. Please bring your photographic publication with you or if you haven’t made one yet, please have your idea ready. To find out more about Ania follow this link.
The workshop has 7 places and costs £12.

Later in the evening Ania will talk about her photobook.
I Also Fight Windmills’ – a photobook presentation by Ania Ready
Ania will give a presentation of the literary photobook entitled ‘I Also Fight Windmills’. The book combines black and white photography with literary texts by a modernist, forgotten writer Sophie Gaudier-Brzeska. It explores the themes of displacement, creativity, loneliness, and social exclusion. Ania depicts mental instability in a sensitive way. During the session Ania will discuss her methods of working with photography and text. She will also discuss her collaboration with others who impersonated characters from texts, how she went about finding the right locations and the appropriate visual language for the story.
Following Ania's talk there will be a Q and A session with (an accomplished freelance writer and editor with a focus on photography)
This event costs £5 and runs from 6.15pm-8pm
