Based in Arbroath but open to all Angus residents. A support group for parents and carers of teenagers who are facing emotional based school avoidance and/or other mental health issues.
There are many factors that will negatively impact a young person's mental health and that can look different for every child. What I have discovered is, as parents, we can often feel overwhelmed and unsupported whilst trying to get the best help/education for our child. I set up this group, as a parent, as I believe in the power of peer support. From listening and learning to others with experience. To connect and acknowledge we are not alone! It takes a village to raise a child after all...
We meet face to face every fortnight at Round 0 Five 0 building from 1030 - 1200. The next date is Saturday 29th November.
A very welcoming and non judgemental environment. The kettle will be on, come along for a brew and see if this is for you. If you are a parent or carer of a young person, in secondary school who is facing emotional based school avoidance, or any other mental health issue, please come along.
