The Art of Surface: Texture and Colour in Spatial Design
How does art shape the way we experience space?
This exhibition explores the transformative role of contemporary abstract art in residential, commercial, and public environments. By integrating selected artworks with interior design elements, it highlights how art extends beyond decoration—shaping atmosphere, perception, and emotional connection to place. Through texture and colour, these works invite visitors to engage with surface in new ways, considering how materiality, light, and composition influence the spatial experience.
About the Artist
Melbourne-based artist Angelina Mirabito brings a background in Creative Writing (PhD) and a practice shaped by her Italian heritage. Also using unconventional materials and tools—palette knives, sticks, hands, and ladles—she builds layered surfaces that translate internal experiences into vibrant, tactile paintings. Her work explores the intersection of emotion, movement, and materiality, drawing attention to the physical and sensory depth of abstract expression.
The exhibition and all events are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all visitors.
