About this Event
Some areas of London seem to be veritable hot spots for ghostly encounters. This walk explores one such place – The Angel Islington – to consider how the past seems to continue into the present in ways we are yet to understand.
The ghost stories will be placed into the context of theories of the paranormal and the history of Islington's sites, buildings and past residents.
This is a linear walk which takes approx. 2 hours (give or take), meandering north from busy Islington Green into the quiet heart of Canonbury. It ends at one of the oldest and most charismatic buildings in London.
Meet me at the southern edge of Islington Green, between the green and the (back of) the Hugh Myddelton statue, at the apex between Upper Street and Essex Road (a few minutes’ walk from Angel Underground Station – see pic below).
The walk ends at Canonbury Tower (approx. 5 minutes’ walk to Highbury & Islington Station).
I walk in (almost) all weathers, so please come prepared! The terrain is mostly flat, with a few uneven and dark surfaces, some steps and a few roads to cross. I take a max.15 people on each walk. Recommended age: 16+.
For information about my other North London ghost walks around Stoke Newington Church Street, Newington Green, Barnsbury and Bloomsbury, please visit: www.storiesofourstreets.com/walks - serious ghost walks for the seriously curious!
I look forward to walking with you!
