"Your Art, Your Business" will guide artists through the practical steps of turning their creative work into a sustainable business. The session explores why artists may want to formalize their practice, the many ways art and creative skills can generate income, and where artists can sell or present their work—from festivals and galleries to online platforms and freelance opportunities. Attendees will learn key steps for starting a business, including legal considerations, recordkeeping, taxes, pricing artwork, copyright basics, and methods for accepting payment and delivering products.
The workshop will also cover marketing strategies, networking, and building an audience for creative work. By the end of the session, participants will gain a clearer understanding of how to structure their art practice as a business, along with practical resources and tools to help them move forward with confidence.
Tickets are $20/per person, and the deadline for registration is April 6, 2026. Space is limited, don't wait to register!
This workshop will be held in person at the YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region's Office (205 6th Street, Bay City, MI 48708.) There will not be a virtual or hybrid option for this presentation.
