What do you think of when you see the word “data”? Star Trek? Math? Statistics? Economics? What about text corpora, poetry, artifacts, images, or memoirs?
Join the Center for Digital Humanities in the Liberal Arts Building Room 346, in investigating how data applies to the humanities, as well as how to use digital humanities tools to support the scholarly inquiry of these datasets.
This second installment of this workshop series will apply practical methods to humanities datasets using Voyant, a data visualization builder for textual analysis that is free to use.
These sessions are open to Southern Miss undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty from all disciplines. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop.
