“The God Barber of 49th Street" is a tale about Rae and Shel. Rae is existing in peace, singing tone deaf showtunes, and cleaning his sharp barber tools for his next client. Unbeknownst to him that his next client is his seasonal girlfriend Shel, the “walk-in” from the heart of Krakatoa. Shel is a walking, talking, fighting, loving force of nature and she is suddenly leaving the low skies of Indianapolis for good. Before she does, she needs: a good low cut, a passionate goodbye, and a place to lay low from the law before she hits the road. This comedic, romantic, and action packed one act has sharp gritty characters and explosive dialogue that will stick like shrapnel in the knee. Feelings that will never fade, imagination that can’t be tamed or tapered, and good tunes. Mythical barber shop talk that you’ve never heard or will ever see.
