In the framework of the JOPSCIP Project, an information session on the topic "The Future of Political Science in Today's Turbulent Times" will be organized by EIU on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 16:00 (24/2 Azatutyan Ave., conference room N 419). The working language of the event is English.
We are pleased to invite you or a representative of your organization to take part in this event.
The JOPSCIP Project information session aims to explore the evolving landscape of political science education in response to contemporary challenges in governance, security, and democracy. In an era marked by global and regional turbulence, both the education system and the political environment are undergoing unprecedented transformations. This event will foster dialogue on how academic institutions, scholars, and policymakers can collaborate to improve political science education and equip future professionals with the necessary skills to navigate these complexities.
The session will commence with a 20-minute presentation introducing the JOPSCIP Project and the PoSIG Program (Joint Master's Program in Political Science – Integration & Governance), highlighting their innovative approaches to political science education. The discussion will provide insights into how the curriculum integrates international standards, promotes academic mobility, and enhances research-based learning.
Following the presentation, a roundtable discussion will engage representatives from universities, research centers, NGOs, and policy institutions, along with political science experts and other stakeholders. The discussion will be focused on the following key topics:
• The impact of regional and global political shifts on governance and democracy: what should be the academia’s response?
• Bridging the academia-practice gap to adequately address contemporary political issues by education and research.
• Modernization and innovation in political science education: challenges, strategies and methodological tools of professional formation of political scientists and policy experts for the future.
This event is designed to facilitate cross-sectoral cooperation, inspire academic innovation, and encourage networking opportunities among key actors in political science education and research. We welcome scholars, students, policymakers, and practitioners to join this discussion and contribute to shaping the future of political science education in these dynamic times.
The JOPSCIP Project is implemented by the consortium of universities including Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA, Georgia) - Project Coordinator, Yerevan State University (YSU, Armenia), Eurasia International University (EIU, Armenia), Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU, Georgia), Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg (PLUS, Austria), and Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (North Macedonia).
