Tom Lao is an amateur photographer from Lucrezia, a small town in central-eastern Italy. He loves cooking, enjoying local beers, and eating seasonal organic food.
Wherever he goes, his camera is always with him. You might spot him sitting on the street with an espresso or a local beer, smoking rolling tobacco, quietly watching the rhythm of daily life: people hurrying by, kids playing, the buzz of busy streets, and the calm of quiet alleys.
This exhibition is a glimpse into the world through his lens. Over the past year, he’s traveled to over ten countries—including Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, Crete in Greece, England, Denmark, Germany, Tuscany in Italy, and Tasmania in Australia — capturing simple, genuine moments of life as it happens around us.
For Tom Lao, life is made up of these small, authentic fragments, and he hopes his photos encourage you to pause and take in the everyday scenes around you.
And his final thought?
“What a mess!”

Tom Lao 是來⾃義⼤利中東部⼩鎮 Lucrezia 的業餘攝影師。他熱愛煮飯、喝當地啤酒、吃當地當季有機食物。再糟糕的⽇⼦，只要有罐冰啤酒，就能解決，⼀罐不⾏、那就再來⼀罐。無論⾛到哪裡，他總是隨身帶著相機，你可能會看到他坐在街邊，喝著⼀⼩杯 espresso 或 ⼀瓶在地啤酒，抽著他最愛的 PUEBLO ⼿捲煙，靜靜看著⼈們的⽇常⽣活，⼤⼈忙碌、孩⼦玩耍; 喧囂的街道和寧靜的⼩巷。
這個展覽是他鏡頭裡的世界。過去⼀年裡，他⾛訪了越南、寮國、泰國、台灣、⼟⽿其、希臘的克⾥特島、英國、丹⿆、德國、義⼤利托斯卡納和澳洲塔斯⾺尼亞等⼗幾個國家，捕捉各地⽣活中平凡卻真實的瞬間、那些圍繞我們四周的⽣活的原貌。
對 Tom Lao 來說，⽣活就是由這些微⼩卻真實的⽚段組成的，他希望透過這些照⽚，讓你停下來，看看身邊的⽇常。
最後，他想對這個世界說： "What a mess!”
