Join us to celebrate and enjoy a fantastic cabaret of an album launch for "The Critique of Capital: An Engaging Revue" at the City of Asylum, Pittsburgh's premier jazz and world music venue with a twist of social criticism. Some highlights include the raucous gospel song “Oh No Honey,” percussive Latin tune “Draw You Down,” a mature and novel interpretation of “Over the Rainbow,” and a blistering samba version of the Taiwanese folk song “Gao Shan Qing.” You'll want to be here in person to see the world debut of a live crankie performance by Pittsburgh artist Melanie Marshall, a music video launch, and these killer musicians:
Laura Chu Wiens (vocals)
Greg Lutz (keys and woodwinds)
Curtis Johnson (woodwinds)
Jeff Leonhardt (guitar)
Justin Brown (bass)
Jay Constable (drums)
Tickets are free, and the performance is streamed online as well- register here to get your seat: https://cityofasylum.org/program/thursday-night-jazz-aurallaura-album-launch/!
