About this Event
Have you always wanted to run film screenings in your area, but didn’t know where to start? Put off by equipment and licence logistics? Don’t know how to find films that might appeal to your community? Local Cinema can give you some answers!
The Local Cinema network has been supporting local film screenings across a range of community-based organisations in Edinburgh since 2023. This year, we are also supporting new grassroots and community groups who wish to put on film screenings in their local area, with a specific focus on providing access to screen-based culture in currently underserved areas of the city, and to film screenings conducted by/for minoritised communities.
Come along to one of our information events on how we can support you to put on your own DIY film screenings, hear from people already running their own film screenings, and how to have your event included in the wider Local Cinema programme running from September 2024 to March 2025.
For this event, we are pleased to welcome Jules from Queer Film Night in Edinburgh and Sapna from Woodlands Anti-Racist Film Club in Glasgow to speak about their experience of putting on film screenings.
Local Cinema is supported by the City of Edinburgh Council, Film Hub Scotland and the Edinburgh Film Guild.
