About this Event
Many kids today are stepping onto the field or court already dealing with knee, hip, back pain!!
These pains often stem from the absent of an individual evaluation and not taking into account the growing cycle of the child. Early intervention is critical. By educating the parents coaches and athelets on how to build a solid kinetic chain foundation young athletes can avoid injury, perform at their best, and develop lifelong healthy habits. This workshop equips parents and coaches with actionable strategies to identify early signs of discomfort, correct imbalances and strengthen young bodies for resilience and performance.
1. Foot/Ankle Injuries to the lower extremities were far and away the most prevalent according to the report, with foot and ankle problems being the worst offender. Whether it's rolling an ankle, getting awkwardly hit in a scramble for the ball, or accidentally getting stepped on, basketball naturally leaves athletes more open to these types of injuries.
Prevention: Preventing foot and ankle injuries is all about support. Learning to use the Knee Pain Reduction Strap is the best piece of equipment for youths to learn proper techniques to avoid injuries
2. Hip/Thigh Injuries Pivoting, running, jumping, and rebounding all place extra strain on the legs and hips, leaving players open to a variety of injuries. Hip strains and bruises can occur from contact on the court or over-extending of muscles and ligaments.
Prevention: Learning about muscle balancing is the first step toward prevention and avoiding injuries.
3. Knee Injuries: (ACL) tears, Meniscus tears, Patellar tendonitis, also known as "jumper's knee.
Prevention: Learn to use the knee pain reduction strap to create balance in the kinetic chain.

Some Flexibility is loss during a Growth Spurt!
When your son or daughter goes through what is commonly called a “growth spurt,” he or she could be more vulnerable to sports injuries if precautions are not taken. That’s because a child’s bone growth usually outpaces similar development in the ligaments and tendons that serve as connective tissues for the joints.
The kinetic chain describes one motion creates a chain of events that affects the movement of neighboring joints and segments.
