Built in 1888 by industrialist Henry Flagler, the Ponce was a marvel of its time with electricity installed by Thomas Edison, Tiffany-stained glass, and Spanish Renaissance architecture that helped establish St. Augustine as a premier Gilded Age destination. Today, it stands as the architectural and cultural heart of Flagler College."Preserving the Ponce" traces its evolution from luxury hotel to National Historic Landmark and home to generations of Flagler students. Through archival materials, expert interviews, and visual storytelling, the documentary captures the Ponce’s enduring legacy, recent extensive renovations, and the College’s commitment to safeguarding it for future generations.
