The Nebraska Crossroads Festival Orchestra returns in 2026 for another year of deep collaboration, new music, and exhilarating performance.
Inspired by birds, motion, and the bright creative energy of this year’s featured works, Luminous Wings takes flight through music that shimmers, pulses, and soars.
The program features Murmurations by Derek Bermel, a new concerto for tabla virtuoso Sandeep Das and additional soloists co-written by Das, Marie Sønderskov, and Crossroads Artistic Director Erik Higgins, along with a new work by festival friend Valeri Tolstov.
Bringing together local and visiting artists, the Festival Orchestra embodies the collaborative spirit of Crossroads—music shaped by friendship, imagination, and the festival’s creative energy.
