Lena and Maggie’s classmate, Jessica, keeps bragging about her family’s “Best Salsa” but that title should go to Lena’s mom! Without thinking, Lena challenges Jessica to a Salsa Off and in her anger a flame legend arrives to make the salsa spicier and spicier! Will Lena and her mom be able to win the contest and prove whose salsa is really the best? Burned Out is a story about parents that try their best but at times feel like it isn’t enough and about the pressures that a kid of immigrants navigate day to day to help their families.
