The Cultural Arts Council is excited to present a new exhibition in April entitled “In Tandem: Faculty, Student & Alumni Works from the University of West Georgia Art Program”. The collection will be on display at the CAC from April 2-28th, Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm with a free opening reception on Thursday, April 17th from 6-8pm at the Cultural Arts Center hosted by the University of West Georgia and featuring delicious food from local favorites True Amor Catering. This diverse exhibit brings together the talents of professors, alumni, and current students from the University of West Georgia Art Program. The theme of the exhibit celebrates the power of professor/student mentorship and how the guidance of experienced instructors influences new generations of artists. It is through arts education that traditional forms are preserved, evolved, and even improved. The University of West Georgia believes that creative expression, whether through traditional studio practice or cutting-edge digital design, is the foundation for learning, and their art students learn from talented faculty in state-of-the-art studios and digital labs equipped with industry-standard tools.
True Amor Catering, which will be providing the food for the reception, is a well-loved local business, having won prizes in the last two Douglasville Chili Cook Off competitions including the coveted “Most Sold” award. They specialize in crafting unforgettable culinary experiences that blend refined flavor, artistic presentations, and luxury service. Led by Chef Jay, True Amor will be bringing a variety of their offerings to the exhibit reception on April 17th. This is an excellent opportunity for locals who have loved their chili to try their other incredible offerings at no cost.
